People looking for jobs in Venezuela who speak English, have a 68% higher chance to get a job.

Slechts een zeer beperkt aantal Venezolanen spreekt Engels. Meer dan 44% of de bevolking is werkloos.

With a little bit of help Venezuelans can have a better future

Venezuela is full of competent professionals who are anxious to get to work and build a stable future again. There is barely any work in their own country. Those who do have a job, often don’t make enough to make ends meet. Millions of Venezuelans have fled to surrounding countries in hope of a better future.

There is plenty of work available though. Only not often in Venezuela itself. Worldwide company are looking for professionals who can work from their own homes. This saves employers high overhead costs, like a furnished working space in an expensive office.

Unfortunately a lot of Venezuelans don’t have a strong enough grasp on English to communicate with their employers. Offering language education however, frequently costs too much money and is often mediocre quality.

People unite with Venezuela

This programme is specially developed to offer Venezuelan professionals a way out of their often bleak existence. The goal is to guide jobless people over a long period of time to get a job at an international organisation. The programme consists of 3 steps, namely:

01

Lenguage course English

Only a handful of Venezuelans have a strong enough grasp on the English language to fully participate in an international company. The Parolu Foundation offers them CEFR acknowledged language courses, allowing them to use their knowledge and experience worldwide.

02

Coaching and guiding

During the course we will start finding potential employers with the candidate.

The Parolu Foundation possesses a currently growing network and can sometimes connect the employers and the candidate immediately. We also help with writing a good CV and coach the candidate with the application process.

03

Facilitating

The focus lies with finding offshore functions. This means that the candidate can work from their own house at a distance and communicates via the Internet. (i.e Skype and e-mail) or phone.

This way the candidate doesn’t have to move. The Parolu foundation also helps with furnishing the “home office”. Venezuela also has frequent power outages. Parolu also helps with acquiring a generator and other necessary supplies.

The Parolu Foundations offers Venezuelans unlimited and free access to all available Spanish - English language courses.

The Parolu Foundation also employs Venezuelans that can help with the language programmes. This way we offer candidates a direct income and helps the new colleague directly to helping fellow citizens.

A FEW EXAMPLES OF WHAT WE CAN DO WITH YOUR DONATIONS

  • CEFR acknowledged language course including job intermediation  $ 265
    Full-time job  $ 150 p/m
  • Coaching, guidance and job search  $ 65

The Circle of help

The complete programme cycle of the "Parolu unite with Venezuela" is as follows:
Image

1) With the received donations, we offer direct assistance to someone in Venezuela. There is no intervention from local organizations.

2) If the language level of this person (called Juan in this example) is too low to communicate properly with his future international employer, Juan will be offered a full English language course.

3) In Venezuela the electricity is on ration and often fails. The internet is also very unreliable. Parolu ensures that Juan is fully operational. For example, we could provide a laptop, an aggregate for emergency power and we offer it a satellite internet connection if desirable.

4) We already start looking for a suitable job for Juan during his language training. With his new employer, he can perform offshore work from his own home.

a) Parolu puts as many people as possible to work within its own organization.

b) It is also quite possible that we will find a suitable job for Juan with an international organization. For example, an employer can already have Juan full-time from USD 150 per month at his disposal.

5) In the event that Juan starts working at Parolu, he can, in turn, help other Venezolean people within our team. For example work guidance, language lessons or fundraising.
